Job Description:
  • The API Support Engineer is part of the API Marketplace team and is responsible to expose final API products to our customers through the Apigee platform. They will develop and manage Apigee proxies/products and share them through Apigee Edge and Apigee Developer portal. These products will be used by multiple internal and external systems for integrations with backend systems.
  • The API Support Engineer who will work in collaboration with our Business and Engineering Teams to ensure top notch API + Technical Support + DevOps. This candidate should understand web technology, have experience working with and troubleshooting SOAP and REST APIs, be a fast learner and not afraid of complexity or working on various projects.
Primary Skill: Apigee, C#, Java, JavaScript, JSP, PHP, Python, or another core web language, Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, MySQL, Application servers (Tomcat or Apache), DHTML.
Experience with developing and designing APIís, Strong understanding of identify protocols such as SSO, SAML, OAuth, JWT, and PKI
Other Experience:
  • 2+ years of demonstrated deep experience with Apigee Edge
  • 2+ years of experience C#, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python, or another core web language
  • 2+ years of experience with databases ex//: Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, MySQL
  • 2+ years of experience with developing and designing API's
  • Strong understanding of identify protocols such as SSO, SAML, OAuth, JWT, and PKI
  • Experience with API testing automation
  • Experience with Swagger editor and YAML
  • Experience in production cloud environments (AWS, Azure, private cloud)
  • Ability to develop, document, and implement solution design
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevOps
  • Good command of Web Service standards, such as REST, GraphQL, or SOAP
  • API testing and understanding of POC requirements
  • Implement API requirements such as logging, validation, fault handling, security, custom analytics/reports, rate limiting, caching, transformation, monetization, request and response modifications etc. using Apigee
  • Onboard new APIs
  • Create custom policies in Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Python, etc.
  • Convert web services from backend SOAP services to RESTful APIs or vice versa
  • Build and maintain shared flows
  • Design, configure and maintain environment as well as organization level configuration such as key value maps, flow hooks, and caches
  • Design and configure platform to connect to various disparate target servers for seamless data exchange
  • Create and maintain SmartDocs and WSDL Docs on the Developer portal
  • Develop and execute unit tests for the Apigee CI/CD pipelines
  • Support Apigee API test automation development and execution activities
  • Build and create shared flows for Error Handling, Security and other scenarios as deemed necessary
  • Design and develop API platform to connect to various disparate backend systems for seamless data exchange
  • Work with various teams for issue resolution, defect fixes and providing overall support for APIs in Apigee platform
